The 3D printer used to build Dude is a Solidoodle-2 Pro. This model, based on the traditional RepRap model, was released in 2012. It's manufacturing company (Solidoodle) shut down its operation in 2016.

Dude's printer has been in constant modification during the entire time Dude was constructed. It is now capable of achieving relatively high quality prints.
